 Applied Mathematics — Bachelor's Programme

The "Applied Mathematics" programme provides students with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in
mathematical modelling, numerical methods, mathematical statistics, and programming. The curriculum combines
fundamental mathematical training with modern computer technologies, focusing on solving real-world problems through
  mathematical methods.

  Programme Objectives

The principal objective is to train highly qualified specialists capable of solving complex problems in economics,
engineering, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and scientific research using mathematical modelling and
  algorithmic methods.

  Core Subjects:

  • Mathematical analysis and linear algebra
  • Differential equations and equations of mathematical physics
  • Probability theory and mathematical statistics
  • Numerical methods and computational mathematics
  • Mathematical modelling and optimisation
  • Discrete mathematics and theory of algorithms
  • Programming (C++, Python) and data structures
  • Data analysis and fundamentals of machine learning

  Skills Acquired:

  • Formulating applied problems as mathematical models
  • Designing numerical algorithms and implementing them in software
  • Statistical analysis of large data sets
  • Solving optimisation problems and interpreting results
  • Conducting scientific research and publishing findings

  Career Opportunities

Graduates can pursue successful careers as data scientists and data analysts in IT companies; actuaries and risk
managers in banks and insurance firms; researchers at scientific institutes; engineers in artificial intelligence and
machine learning; lecturers and research staff at universities; and specialists in mathematical modelling at
  engineering and consulting firms.
