Russian language
The Philology and Language Teaching (Russian Language) bachelor’s program at Kimyo International University in Tashkent prepares specialists with advanced Russian language proficiency, modern teaching competencies, and strong communication skills for academic and professional environments.
The program develops communicative, linguistic, methodological, and intercultural competencies. Students study phonetics, lexicology, morphology, syntax, stylistics, Russian and world literature, translation fundamentals, and methodologies for teaching Russian as a foreign language.
Special emphasis is placed on comparative-analytical and communicative approaches adapted for Uzbek-speaking learners.
Curriculum Overview
The program is a 4-year bachelor’s degree consisting of 160 credits and 240 ECTS. The curriculum integrates linguistics, literary studies, methodology, speech culture, translation, and professional practice.
During the first year, students study the foundations of Russian language and philology through courses such as Modern Russian Language, Introduction to Linguistics, Introduction to Literary Studies, Folklore, and Foreign Children’s Literature. Korean or Turkish is offered as an elective language.
The second year focuses on deeper theoretical and practical study of the Russian language through Teacher’s Speech Culture, Russian Language Workshop, Comparative-Typological Linguistics, and Russian Spelling and Punctuation. Internship 1 is organized at the end of the year.
In the third year, methodological and communicative training becomes more intensive. Students study Methods of Teaching Russian Language, Text Linguistics, Critical Thinking, Academic Letter, Rhetoric, and Modern Russian Literature.
During the final year, students focus on translation theory and practice, stylistics, scientific research methods, and school-oriented Russian language teaching methodology. The program concludes with Undergraduate Practice and either Graduation Research or a Final Cross-Disciplinary Examination.

Program Achievements
One of the program’s key strengths is its Russian language teaching system adapted specifically for Uzbek-speaking learners. The educational process incorporates communicative, competency-based, and interactive approaches together with modern digital learning technologies.
The academic staff includes 12 specialists, among whom 3 hold PhD/DSc degrees and 4 hold MA/MSc degrees.
Modern methodologies such as Communicative Language Teaching, Task-Based Language Teaching, Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, Blended Learning, and Student-Centered Learning are widely applied to develop students’ speaking, writing, analytical thinking, and practical skills.
